Elkhart is a little city with big ideas. Although its population barely exceeds 45,000, its people are employed in a variety of industries that would do credit to a city several times its size. It is also the center of the manufactured housing and recreational vehicle industry, an important source for components for the eletronic industry and the band instrument capital of the world.
There's plenty to see in the area. Some of the most popular local attractions include Shipshewana, site of one of the country's largest flea markets, is only a short drive away. The University of Notre Dame and the College Football Hall of Fame are in nearby South Bend. Not to be missed is the RV Hall of Fame & Museum- a brand new location was opened in 2007!
There are so many things to see and do in this area- there just won't be time to do it allin one week- but we'll try to make your stay in Goshen the best it can be!
